Jerusalem

April 11, 2014

These days feeling so restless like anything. Don’t know how long I can continue to work. Feeling sick and bored of work. Only the feeling of responsibility and duty is keeping me going. Cannot stand the rigidity of being stuck for long hours in the office and the routine of waking up and having to go to work every morning. Feeling stagnant like a pond of dead water.

Having a break next week or so, going to England for Easter! I’m sure England’s green and pleasant land will soothe me for some time.

Jerusalem

And did those feet in ancient time

Walk upon England’s mountains green:

And was the holy Lamb of God,

On England’s pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,

Shine forth upon our clouded hills?

And was Jerusalem builded here,

Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold;

Bring me my Arrows of desire:

Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!

Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,

Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:

Till we have built Jerusalem,

In England’s green & pleasant Land

~William Blake

Hey, Huihua! I’ve been just remembering our adventures in the Philippines about a year ago :). I posted Blake’s own illustration of Jerusalem for his birthday last November: http://msvarnyk.wordpress.com/2013/11/28/william-blake/ The post is in Ukrainian, as is most of my blog, but the picture is in English :). Enjoy Easter in England!
