A Different Christ

The Vision of Christ

I’ve been reading the chinese translation of the Essene Gospels of Peace for some time now and still it is going on….wanted to blog about this earlier though as it is a really interesting text which may just change your idea of Christ.

Well what i can say is those who would like to know more about who  Christ was  should read it. Christians only believe solely in the Bible but we definitely should open our eyes, mind and heart to other sources which might add on more layers of understanding about who he was.  I was really surprised by the teachings of Christ in this text! It is not found in the Bible at all….so one might question the authenticity of it but what i would like to point out is many of the teachings can be proved… through  Sahaja Yoga!

Shri Mataji, the founder of Sahaja Yoga has given the experience of Self Realisation to many around the world through awakening of their kundalini energy. This kundalini she mentioned is the holy spirit and to get this Self Realisation is the real baptism! For me the promise that Christ made, is fulfilled in getting my kundalini awakening and feeling the cool breeze of the holy spirit above my head!

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, (s)he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26

Having practised Sahaja Yoga has helped me in understanding the Essene Gospels as I find much in common (bringing all things to our remembrance?). I would like to share some of those parallels and hopefully it will be something to ponder upon  for people who are seeking the Truth.

Similarities of Christ’s teachings in the Essene Gospels with Sahaja Yoga:

1) In the Essene Gospels, Christ talks of the Mother, who has given us birth and the need to follow her laws.  This Mother is also referred to as Earthly Mother (Mother Nature). “I tell you truly, you are one with the Earthly Mother; she is in you, and you in her….Only when he returns to the bosom of his Earthly Mother will he find everlasting life and the Stream of Life which leads to his Heavenly Father” This constant mention of the female principle is lacking in modern day Christianity.

In Sahaja Yoga, we know kundalini as our mother who nurtures us and is there for our second birth. The kundalini too is expressed in the Mother Earth. “If you do not know how to respect the Mother Earth, we do not know how to respect ourselves.”

2) Also he explained on  ‘life’ as in the lifeforce behind everything.  “In everything that is life is the law written. You find it in the grass, in the tree, in the river, in the mountain, in the birds of heaven, in the fishes of the sea; but seek it chiefly in yourselves. For I tell you truly, all living things are nearer to God than the scripture which is without life.”

In Sahaja Yoga, we can feel the cool vibrations, which is positive energy manifesting as a cool breeze.  Shri Mataji has mentioned not to  get too caught up in reading books on  Sahaja Yoga but rather we should feel and establish the vibrations which is the living truth as literally we can know the truth on our hands.

3) He described the body as a temple of God but first we have to clean ourselves within before God can come and dwell in us. He healed people by allowing the different angels, namely angel of water, angel of air, angel of sunlight to go into their bodies and cast out all the uncleanliness and sins from within.

In Sahaja Yoga, we clear the negativities of our subtle system (Tree of Life) within using the 5 elements (air, water, earth, ether, light). These elements are intelligent and know how to work it out. In the Essene gospels, Christ asked some people to go to the riverbank to stand in the mud so that the angel of earth can remove all the troubles within them. This is similar to footsoaking with salt, which is one of the techniques in Sahaja Yoga, using earth and water elements to remove negativities from within us.

4) He distinctly talks about the Tree of Life in a manner not mentioned in the New Testament. Enjoy the description even if it is a bit long!

“Behold, the Tree of Life, which stands in the middle of the Eternal Sea. Look not only with the eyes of the body, but see with the eyes of the spirit the Tree of Life at a source of running streams; at a living spring in a land of drought. See the eternal garden of wonders, and at its center the Tree of Life, mystery of mysteries, growing everlasting branches for eternal planting, to sink their roots into the stream of life from an eternal source. See with the eyes of the spirit the angels of day and the angels of night which protect the fruits with flames of Eternal Light burning every way. See, oh Sons of Light, the branches of the Tree of Life reaching toward the kingdom of the Heavenly Father. And see the roots of the Tree of Life descending into the bosom of the Earthly Mother. And the Son of Man is raised to an eternal height and walks in the wonders of the plain; for only the Son of Man carries in his body the roots of the Tree of Life; the same roots that suckle from the bosom of the Earthly Mother; and only the Son of Man carries in his spirit the branches of the Tree of Life; the same branches that reach to the sky, even so to the kingdom of the Heavenly Father.”

Isn’t this the description of the subtle system which all Sahaja yogis know about?

Nice article. Here is more info.

    John 7:38
Jesus says that the streams of living water–or the rivers of living water–will flow from the person who believes in him.

    Living water is Kundalini .
